AWAS delivers fifth new Airbus A320 aircraft to LAN Airlines
Dublin-based global aircraft lessor, AWAS, has delivered the fifth new A320 passenger aircraft to LAN, one of the leading passenger and cargo airlines in Latin America. In late 2011 AWAS and LAN entered into a purchase and leaseback transaction for 5 Airbus A320 aircraft that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer for 2011-2012 delivery. LAN will use these new fuel-efficient, narrowbody aircraft to strengthen and modernise their regional network throughout South America. As part of this overall fleet solution, AWAS has also completed the early redelivery of three B737-700s from LAN Colombia. The 737-700s have already been delivered to two other operators in The Americas, including a new customer to AWAS, Canadian airline EnerJet.
