Emirates Airlines has ordered 42 extended-range Boeing 777 aircraft, all powered by GE90 engines, with purchase rights for an additional 20 aircraft. These GE90-115B engines will be covered by a 12-year, OnPointSM Solution service agreement with GE for maintenance and overhaul. Total value of the order is more than $2.5 billion (USD).
Under the terms of the agreement, Emirates Airlines will purchase 24 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 777-200LRs and eight 777 freighters, with purchase rights for an additional 20 aircraft. All of these aircraft models are powered by the GE90-115B, the world’s most powerful jet engine.
