The Irish low-fare airline Aer Lingus has contracted Lufthansa Technik AG in Hamburg to provide component support for its growing fleet of Airbus aircraft. The agreement signed covers a term of ten years and includes component services for a fleet of currently 34 Airbus A320 family aircraft and nine Airbus A330 jets. The contract has a volume in excess of 90 million euros.
Lufthansa Technik AG will provide service and repair for almost all aircraft components. To provide optimal support, a Lufthansa Technik representative in Dublin will coordinate the services, which will commence November 1st, 2008. The fleet of Aer Lingus is expected to grow to 54 aircraft by 2013.
