The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), an agency under the Prime Minister’s Department, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5th October 2012 with the Performance Review Institute (PRI), which administers the Nadcap program on behalf of the aerospace industry, marking another milestone in efforts to advance the competencies and competitiveness of the Malaysian aerospace industry in the global market. MIGHT’s initiative is a strategic move in promoting supply chain enhancement in Malaysia by providing local access to global standards in aerospace manufacturing. The signing of this MOU is a clear commitment from the Government to develop the Malaysian aerospace industry as a key player in the global market. With a well-established maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) in place, Malaysia is now expanding its efforts into the potentially lucrative aero structure manufacturing. In 2011 alone, Malaysia netted approximately RM1.2bn turnover in aero structure manufacturing, a 100% growth from 2009,said the President and CEO of MIGHT, En Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman.
