Brazil’s Embraer has released that for the first quarter of 2021, it delivered nine commercial jets, and ten light and three large executive jets, a total of 22 planes. Based in São José dos Campos, São Paulo and founded in 1969, Embraer is the world’s third-largest producer of civil aircraft. As of March 31, Embraer’s firm-order backlog stood at US$14.2 billion.
In the first quarter of 2021, KLM Cityhopper received its first E195-E2 jet. KLM is a regional subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. This first E2 delivery to KLM, and lessor ICBC Aviation Leasing, sees the number of Embraer jets in the KLM Cityhopper fleet increase to 50. During the same quarter, Air Peace, Nigeria and West Africa’s largest airline, took delivery of its first E195-E2 aircraft, making the carrier the launch customer in Africa for the E2 as well as the global launch customer for Embraer’s innovative premium staggered seating design.
In the first quarter, Embraer also delivered the first conversion of a Legacy 450 to a Praetor 500 jet for AirSprint Private Aviation. The Canadian fractional ownership company has another Legacy 450 scheduled to convert to a Praetor 500 this year, in addition to the delivery of a brand-new Praetor 500, also expected in 2021. This will increase the number of Embraer aircraft in AirSprint Private Aviation’s fleet to nine.
