Elix Aviation, the international regional aircraft leasing company, has confirmed the delivery of one new ATR 72-600 aircraft, MSN 1646, under a sale-and-leaseback transaction with Afrijet. With this new delivery, Elix Aviation continues to grow its ATR portfolio and increase its leasing and asset management services in the African market.
Founded in 2005 in Libreville, Afrijet is a Gabonese airline, which became the first airline in the CEMAC zone in 2019. Established as a historical charter player, Afrijet has developed a regional scheduled network since October 2016. IOSA certified for a second consecutive time in June 2022, Afrijet employs 250 people in Gabon, Congo, Cameroon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea and Benin.
Operating a fleet of six turboprops from European manufacturer ATR, the airline is taking delivery of its first new ATR with the financial support of Elix Aviation, the first in a series of new aircraft.
