Southwest Airlines reported that November traffic decreased 8.3% from November 2007, capacity was flat for November 2007 and November 2008 and the load factor for the month was 63.2%, compared to 69.3% for the same period last year.
AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, reported that traffic for the month of November decreased 6.6%, while capacity was down 7.1%. The load factor for November was 75.8%, 0.4 pts higher than in November 2007.
Continental Airlines reported a November consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 77.3%, 2.8 points below the November 2007 consolidated load factor, consolidated traffic decreased 10.5% and capacity decreased 7.3% as compared to November 2007.
British Airways will resume flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia from March 29, 2009. The airline will fly five times each week from Heathrow Terminal 5 to both Jeddah and Riyadh. Pinnacle Airlines released capacity and operational results for its Pinnacle Airlines, subsidiary for October 2008. Traffic for October aproved 5.5% while capacity improved 7.0%. The laod factor for October declined 1.1 pts, to 78.3%
Air France KLM reported that traffic rose 9.0% with capacity up by 8.0%. The load factor for the month stood at 81.3% (+0.7 points). Air France-KLM carried 6.6 million passengers (+5.7%).
BA reported that October capacity was 0.7% lower than in October 2007, traffic fell by 4.4% and the load factor decreased 3.0 points versus last year, to 77.0%.
Finnair’s traffic increased by 11.7% in October, while the capacity was up by 9.2%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 78.2% or 1.7 points higher than last year. Finnair transported altogether 751 916 passengers, which is 4.8% more than a year ago.
LAN Airlines S.A. and its related companies reported its preliminary monthly traffic statistics for October 2008. System passenger traffic for October increased 10.8% as capacity rose 11.2%. As a result, the Company
Alaska reported a two-point increase in load factor to 73.6% in October 2008, compared to October 2007 on a 3.7% decline in capacity, compared to the prior-year period. Traffic was down 1.0% compared to the same period in 2007.
