Southwest Airlines reports November traffic

Southwest Airlines reported that November traffic decreased 8.3% from November 2007, capacity was flat for November 2007 and November 2008 and the load factor for the month was 63.2%, compared to 69.3% for the same period last year.

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, reported that traffic for the month of November decreased 6.6%, while capacity was down 7.1%. The load factor for November was 75.8%, 0.4 pts higher than in November 2007.

British Airways to resume flights to Jeddah and Riyadh

British Airways will resume flights to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia from March 29, 2009. The airline will fly five times each week from Heathrow Terminal 5 to both Jeddah and Riyadh. Finnair reports 12% traffic increase

Finnair’s traffic increased by 11.7% in October, while the capacity was up by 9.2%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 78.2% or 1.7 points higher than last year. Finnair transported altogether 751 916 passengers, which is 4.8% more than a year ago.

Alaska Air Group reports October traffic

Alaska reported a two-point increase in load factor to 73.6% in October 2008, compared to October 2007 on a 3.7% decline in capacity, compared to the prior-year period. Traffic was down 1.0% compared to the same period in 2007.
