ST Aerospace awarded contract by China United Airlines

Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace), the aerospace arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering), today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ST Aerospace Supplies, was awarded a contract by Chinese airline, China United Airlines. The agreement, worth US$9 million (about S$15 million), involves components management and maintenance support for China United Airlines’ fleet of 3 Boeing 737 aircraft over five years. To date, ST Aerospace has been awarded component support programmes by four of China’s emerging airlines.

Singapore Airlines will use "Integrated Maintenance Solution" from Boeing

Boeing and Singapore Airlines signed a maintenance agreement to reduce the airline’s operating costs. Boeing will manage the airline’s total expendable spare parts inventory as well as provide a means to monitor the health of its airplanes in flight. Singapore Airlines is the first to sign for this integrated maintenance solution, which combines Boeing’s Integrated Materials Management (IMM) and Airplane Health Management (AHM). Through IMM, Boeing will be responsible for purchasing, inventory management and logistics for Singapore Airlines total expendable aircraft parts. Through AHM, Boeing will provide real-time airplane information to reduce schedule interruptions and increase maintenance efficiency.

Lufthansa Technik to supply cockpit systems for Airbus freighter

Lufthansa Technik will continue to provide engineering services for cockpit systems to be installed in FedEx cargo aircraft conversions during the next three years. The American company has the world’s biggest fleet of cargo aircraft and the work will be undertaken by EADS Elbe Flugzeugwerke of Dresden. After delivery of its 100th Airbus, an agreement was signed for the standardization, technical upgrades and certification, of uniform modern cockpit systems for additional Airbus A300 and A310 cargo aircraft, in conjunction with Lufthansa Technik engineers.

India's Paramount Airways signs CF34 maintenance agreement with GE

Paramount Airways of India has signed a new OnPointSM Solutions service agreement with GE Engine Services for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of CF34-8E engines powering the airline’s fleet of Embraer 170/175 aircraft. The nine-year agreement is valued at approximately $12 million. Paramount, which began operations in October, is the first airline in India to operate the CF34-8E-powered E170. Paramount currently operates one E170 aircraft and will take delivery of four more airplanes in the next several months.

Messier Services lands 777 landing gear MRO contracts

Messier Services secured two additional B777 landing gear MRO contracts for Boeing landing gear MRO work. Malaysia Airlines and Thai Airways International have selected Messier Services Asia as the landing gear repair and overhaul provider for their respective Boeing 777 fleets. Exchanges and overhauls will commence for Malaysia Airlines in December 2005 and end in December 2007, covering 9 shipsets. Overhauls for Thai Airways International will commence in February 2006 and end in December 2009, covering 14 shipsets. In addition, Boeing has selected Messier Services Asia Pte as a Boeing approved facility for landing gear and component repair and overhaul. Read more

Pratt & Whitney Canada now offers Altair Avionics data transmission units for installation on the Cessna XL/XLS, Cessna 680 Sovereign, Gulfstream G200 and Dassault Falcon 2000EX business aircraft, following recent Supplemental Type Certification by the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority.
