South African Airways Technical signs engine services contract with SR Technics

SR Technics expands its presence in the African market by concluding an Integrated Engine Solutions (IES) agreement with South African Airways Technical. The exclusive five-year contract commences immediately and covers services on CFM56-5C engines on Airbus A340 aircraft. It is worth some $165 million. AirTran Airways signs EcoPower engine wash agreement

AirTran Airways signed an exclusive agreement with JET Aircraft Maintenance, a designated service provider of Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners EcoPower engine wash services. Under the agreement, AirTran will use EcoPower engine wash services on its fleet of 143 aircraft, which consists of Boeing 737-700s and 717-200s aircraft.

Yemen Airways selects P&W Global Service Partners for fleet maintenance

Yemen Airways, has selected Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners for a 10-year, $90 million Fleet Management Program agreement. The agreement covers all of the owned A310 aircraft in Yemen Airways fleet, which are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. The agreement covers all engine maintenance as well as engine health monitoring of the A310 fleet.

Airbus and HAIG sign framework contract

Airbus China Limited and Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Company Limited (HAIG) entered into a framework contract for a Joint Venture Manufacturing Centre in Harbin, China to produce aircraft composite material parts and components. The manufacturing centre, which will be set up in early 2009, will be an equity joint venture enterprise, with HAIG holding 80% stake and Airbus China owning 20% stake. Continental Airlines selects Goodrich for additional landing gear overhaul services

Goodrich Corporation has received an expanded landing gear overhaul service agreement from Continental Airlines to cover virtually every model in the airline’s Boeing aircraft fleet. The expanded portion of the agreement is expected to generate $49 million in revenue over five years. Under the contract amendment, Goodrich will perform overhaul services for landing gear on Continental’s Boeing 737-700/800/900, 767 and 777 aircraft, in addition to the Boeing 757-200 and 737 Classic models already under service agreement to Goodrich. Work will be performed by the Goodrich Landing Gear team in Opa-Locka, Fla. just outside Miami.

Volvo Aero and Rolls-Royce sign risk and revenue sharing agreement

Volvo Aero and Rolls-Royce have entered into a risk and revenue sharing agreement for the Trent XWB engine for the Airbus A350XWB aircraft, under which Volvo Aero will develop and manufacture the intermediate compressor case, a key engine component. P&W and Turkish Technic break ground on engine overhaul center

Pratt & Whitney and its joint venture partner, Turkish Airlines Technic broke ground on a new CFM56 and V2500 engine overhaul facility in Istanbul on July 14th. Once fully operational, the 25,000-square-meter (269,000-square-foot) center is expected to overhaul up to 200 engines annually and employ up to 550 people, many of whom will be from Turkish Technic’s highly experienced engine maintenance team.
