Aircelle delivers its 1000th thrust reverser for use on Rolls-Royce

Aircelle delivered the 1,000th thrust reverser for Rolls-Royce BR710 engines. Developed by Aircelle in 1993-1994, the BR710 thrust reverser is now in its eighth year of operational service on high-end ultra long-range corporate jets. Aircelle is stepping up its production rate for BR710 thrust reversers to handle delivery requirements through 2011. The company plans to reach a steady output of 180 units per year, which compares to 140 deliveries in 2005 and the 100 reversers completed in 2002. Airbus to extend industrial cooperation with China

The National Development & Reform Commission of China (NDRC) and Airbus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding about the cooperation between the Chinese civil aviation industry and the European manufacturer. The MOU sets the frame for a further upgrade of the cooperation between both parties. It also describes the process to evaluate the fields of enhanced cooperation, including the possibility to establish a Final Assembly Line for single aisle aircraft in China. GE Assists Emirates in Construction of New Jet Engine Test Facility

The facility was designed in co-operation with GE with a capability unique to the Middle East region. The facility will house a 13-meter cross-section turbofan engine test cell and an auxiliary power unit test cell and will be capable of testing aircraft engines with up to 150,000 pounds of thrust. TIMCO Aviation Services Selects Pittsburgh as Site for CFM56 Engine Center

TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc. announced that it has selected Pittsburgh, PA, as the site for its new CFM56 engine center that will eventually employ approximately 200 people. The 75,000 square-foot center, scheduled to commence operations in early 2006, will offer off-wing maintenance, repair and overhaul services on CFM56-3 series engines, as wellas on-wing support services for all CFM56 series engines.
