Parker Aerospace to develop generic fly-by-wire system for Bombardier

Bombardier Aerospace and Parker Aerospace announced that Parker has been selected as the exclusive supplier for a period of ten years of fly-by-wire flight control systems for all new Bombardier widebody aircraft programs requiring this technology. Parker Aerospace will develop a complete, state of the art generic fly-by-wire system from stick to surface, that will then be customized and manufactured for each aircraft program, starting with the CSeries. Parker estimates that this has the potential to generate revenues of $3.5 billion over the life of the programs.

Embraer and EgyptAir reinforce parts support agreement

Embraer reinforced its partnership with EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering by signing an agreement for in-house parts repair capabilities. EgyptAir will be able to repair Embraer components at its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) center. One year ago, Embraer and EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering signed a long-term Parts Pool Program services contract for the support of the six EMBRAER 170 jets operated by EgyptAir Express.

JALI signs On-Site Support agreement with Hamilton Sundstrand

Hamilton Sundstrand signed an On-Site Support agreement with Japan Airlines International (JALI) covering electric power system and pneumatic system products on the airline’s fleet of 132 large commercial aircraft including Boeing 747-400s, 767s and 777s. The 10-year program will begin in August. Work will be performed at Japan Airlines International’s Narita, Japan, maintenance facility. Airbus and HAIG sign framework contract

Airbus China Limited and Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Company Limited (HAIG) entered into a framework contract for a Joint Venture Manufacturing Centre in Harbin, China to produce aircraft composite material parts and components. The manufacturing centre, which will be set up in early 2009, will be an equity joint venture enterprise, with HAIG holding 80% stake and Airbus China owning 20% stake.
