Iberia to maintain aircraft, engines and components for Iberworld

Iberia has signed three separate contracts with the Iberworld company under which it will perform aircraft maintenance and logistical support services at the installations of Iberia Maintenance in Madrid. The first contract covers inspections and maintenance of 10 CFM56-5B engines belonging to the Airbus A320 fleet, including disassembly and assembly. Lufthansa Technik supports DLR research aircraft

Lufthansa Technik will support the Airbus A320 research aircraft belonging to the German Aerospace Center (DLR) under a Total Technical Support TTS contract. The contract will initially run for a period of two years, with the option of a two-year renewal. The DLR uses the Airbus A320 for a wide variety of tasks in the context of its world-renowned research activities.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)’s Bedek Aviation Group has signed a nine and a half year contract with the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to provide comprehensive and continuous maintenance services to the Israel Air Force (IAF) Heavy Transport Aircraft Wing. IAI estimates that the total full value of maintenance services to the IAF may reach $170 million. The contract is for a period of 9.5 years. Services will be initially provided at both the IAF’s base and Bedek’s facilities. As the contract progresses all services will eventually be provided solely at the IAF’s base.

Boeing enters into agreement with TAL Manufacturing Solutions

Boeing announced it has entered into an agreement with India-based TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd., for manufacturing structural components for Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner airplane program. Under the agreement, TAL Manufacturing Solutions will build floor beams for the 787 using new technology with advanced titanium and composite materials. These floor beams will be used on the 787 Dreamliner and provide for a best-value solution and significant weight savings. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Air Atlanta signs new contract with GMG Airlines in Bangladesh

Air Atlanta Icelandic reported the signing of a one year wet-lease agreement with GMG Airlines in Bangladesh for one B747-300 TF-AMK, which started operation last Friday February 1st. An additional one year wet-lease agreement has now been signed for a second aircraft B747-300 TF-AMJ starting 1st of April 2008.
