Boeing and Cathay Pacific Airways have signed an agreement for an Integrated Materials Management (IMM) solution designed to reduce the airline’s operating costs and allow Cathay Pacific to focus its resources on core business activities. Boeing will manage selected portions of the airline’s expendable spare parts inventory, helping it achieve consistently high service levels for parts availability, increased support for its maintenance operation and improved cash flow.

Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced a contract awarded by GKN Aerospace to its Magellan Aerospace (UK) Limited operating division. The contract is to supply metal components for retrofit winglets on the Boeing 767, supporting GKN Aerospace’s design and development contract for these winglets with Aviation Partners Boeing (APB). The contract calls for up to 450 aircraft sets over the performance period of three to four years. Although the winglets are primarily composite structures, each one will incorporate 25 Magellan-manufactured metal components, such as wing ribs and brackets.

Honeywell has been chosen to supply its 36-150 auxiliary power unit (APU) for the new Embraer MSJ and MLJ business aircraft. In April Honeywell also announced its selection by Embraer to provide the HTF7500E turbofan propulsion system family for the MSJ and MLJ aircraft. The 36-150 APU order delivers another high performance, fuel saving power system to Embraer’s newest business aircraft.
