Sean O'Keefe to head GE Aviation's Washington D.C. operations

Effective June 2, Sean O’Keefe will head GE Aviation’s Washington D.C. operations, replacing Dr. Thomas Cooper, who is retiring after serving in the role with distinction for 21 years. Over the past 30 years, O’Keefe has held key U.S. Government positions in Washington, including NASA Administrator (2001-2005), Deputy Director and Deputy Assistant to the President at the Office of Management and Budget (2001), and Secretary of the Navy (1992-93).

Aviall to establish business operations in India

Aviall, a wholly owned Boeing subsidiary, plans to open a business office in India during the second half of 2008. Aviall is one of the largest providers of new aviation parts and related aftermarket services in the aerospace industry. North American Airlines reaches tentative agreement with pilots

North American Airlines has reached a tentative agreement on an initial 54-month contract with its pilots, represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). The tentative agreement, subject to ratification by the North American pilots, will take effect upon the date of signing.

United Airlines appoints Douglas McKeen Senior Vice President Labor Relations

United Airlines appointed P. Douglas McKeen as senior vice president – Labor Relations. McKeen, an employment lawyer and highly regarded labor negotiator, joins United with more than 20 years of airline labor relations and human resources experience, including most recently at ASTAR Air Cargo, where he led negotiations on a pilot contract with the Air Line Pilots Association that was recently approved.

Boeing protests U.S. Air Force tanker contract award

European Commission searches offices of Deutsche Lufthansa AG

Lufthansa released that the European Commission conducted an investigation in the offices of Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Frankfurt on March 11th. According to information from the investigation decision, the Commission has information that passenger aviation companies including Lufthansa in Europe and in Japan may have taken part in anti-competitive price-fixing and collusive behaviour in traffic between the EU and Japan. Midcoast Aviation appoints Jim Zarvos to head MRO at Savannah Air Center

Jim Zarvos, currently leading Midcoast’s satellite operations, was recently promoted by Midcoast Aviation to senior vice president and added MRO and refurbishment activities at SAC in Savannah, GA to his responsibilities In his new position, Zarvos will soon relocate to Savannah to lead the MRO and refurbishment programs at Savannah Air Center which was acquired by the Jet Aviation Group at the end of January 2008.
