Alaska Air Group reports January 2018 operational results

Alaska Air Group has posted January operational results on a consolidated basis, for its mainline operations operated by subsidiaries Alaska Airlines and Virgin America and for its regional flying operated by subsidiary Horizon Air Industries and third-party regional carriers SkyWest Airlines and Peninsula Airlines. On a combined basis for all operations, Alaska Air Group has reported a 3.5% increase in traffic on a 6.6% increase in capacity compared to January 2017. The load factor decreased 2.3 points to 75.8%.

Copa Holdings reports January traffic figures

Copa Holdings released that traffic in January was up 5.8% from the year-ago figure. On a year-over-year basis, consolidated capacity improved 5.4%. The load factor for the month expanded 40 basis points (bps) to 84% in the first month of 2018 as traffic growth outpaced capacity.

Fraport starts off new year with strong growth

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) continues to be on a growth path in the New Year. In January 2018, Germany’s largest aviation hub recorded 4,549,717 passengers (up 7.6%). Once again European traffic was the main growth driver, increasing by 12.6%, while intercontinental traffic rose by 2.6%. Cargo (airfreight and airmail) throughput at Frankfurt Airport advanced by 1.3%. Lufthansa Group Airlines welcome 8.7 million passengers on board in January 2018

In January 2018, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group welcomed around 8.7 million passengers. This shows an increase of 10.1% compared to the previous year’s month. Capacity was up 8% over the previous year, at the same time, traffic increased by 7.4%. The seat load factor decreased by 0.4 points compared to January 2017 to 75.6%.

WestJet reports January load factor of 82.6%

WestJet has reported January 2018 traffic results with a load factor of 82.6%, an increase of 2.6 points year over year. Traffic increased 6.5% year over year, and capacity grew 3.1% over the same period. The airline flew 2.0 million guests in January, a year-over-year increase of 7.9% or approximately 150,000 additional guests.
