Dynomax Aerospace receives contract for Learjet 85 aircraft structural components

Dynomax Inc. reported that its aerospace operations has received purchase orders for high-precision machined metal components for the Bombardier Learjet 85 business jet. Dynomax will provide structural components for use in the manufacture of the aircraft bulkhead, fuselage and wings. Dynomax will also produce several detailed parts for the initial phase of the Learjet 85 program primary flight control package, which includes aileron, elevator and rudder components.

Saab to acquire Sensis Corporation

Defence and security company Saab AB announced a definitive agreement to acquire the U.S. company Sensis Corporation (Sensis), a leading provider of air traffic management (ATM) solutions and surveillance technologies, for approximately $155 million (about MSEK 1,008). In addition, the parties have agreed on a potential earn out payment of maximum $40 million (about MSEK 260) by 2014. GE, Aviall enter parts agreement for CF6-80C2/80E engine

Aviall, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has entered into an exclusive worldwide aftermarket distribution agreement with GE Aviation for unique spare parts, excluding life-limited parts and flow path hardware, for CF6-80C2/80E engines that power a wide variety of civilian airliners. The agreement extends for the life of the engine, which is currently certified on 11 wide-body aircraft models, including the Boeing 747, Boeing 767 and the Airbus A330. The GE CF6-80 series is a family of high-bypass turbofan engines, and the -80C2 entered service in October 1985.

China’s CAS and ICBC Leasing buy 88 Airbus A320 Family aircraft

China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS) and ICBC Financial Leasing Co., (ICBC Leasing) have signed agreements with Airbus for a total of 88 A320 Family aircraft. In the frame of this General Terms Agreement (GTA), ICBC Leasing by itself signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for 42 A320 Family aircraft. This is the first order that ICBC Leasing has placed directly with an aircraft manufacturer. So far ICBC has 68 aircraft in its portfolio. ICBC Leasing is a subsidiary of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

Boeing opens new 787 vertical fin assembly line in Salt Lake City

Boeing commemorated the opening of a new 787 vertical fin assembly line at its production facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Operated by Boeing Fabrication, the site will build the vertical fin assemblies for 787 Dreamliners built at Boeing South Carolina. Production on the new assembly line is slated to begin in July.  The new assembly line was designed and built using Lean Manufacturing techniques. Pratt & Whitney has signed an exclusive maintenance services agreement with Jetstar Pacific Airlines to provide engine overhaul services on the airline’s fleet of CFM56-3 engines. Aerolineas StarPeru expands into regional freight operations with BAe 146 QT

Aerolineas StarPeru is adding a BAe 146QT (Quiet Trader) freighter to its fleet of nine passenger BAe 146s and plans to introduce regional freighter operations in Peru. The aircraft has been purchased from UK airline Titan Airways under a deal that was arranged by BAE Systems Asset Management through its remarketing agreement with the UK airline. Delivery of the aircraft has just taken place. Based in the capital Lima, StarPeru was founded in 1997 as a charter operator providing air services into remote jungle airstrips to support oil exploration companies.
