AJ Walter Aviation to provide integrated consumables management for Small Planet Airlines

Small Planet Airlines has chosen A J Walter Aviation to provide integrated consumables management. This new contract will support charter flight programmes from Fiumicino (Rome) and Malpensa (Milan) throughout the year. Recently expanded Small Planet Airlines now operates in Italy and AJW will position spares consignments to support the airline’s line maintenance programme. New Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental and Freighter to debut at 2011 Paris Air Show

Boeing’s two new 747-8 airplane models – the Intercontinental passenger version and the Freighter version – will make their international debuts at the Paris Air Show, joining the innovative 787 Dreamliner as highlights of the company’s presence during the show. Also on display at the biennial aerospace exhibition, which begins June 20 at Le Bourget, will be an Air Berlin 737-700 with the new Boeing Sky Interior, a Qatar Airways Boeing 777-200LR – the longest-range passenger jetliner in the world – the C-17 Globemaster III military airlifter, the F-15E Strike Eagle multi-role fighter jet, and the CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopter.

Smyrna Air Center completes first Power 90 Upgrade conversion

Smyrna Air Center has completed its first Power 90 Upgrade conversion for AeroMetric, one of the largest and most experienced full service geospatial solutions companies in the United States. GE Aviation’s M601E-11A engines are now powering AeroMetric’s King Air E-90 aircraft for their site in Anchorage, Alaska. The Power 90 Upgrade Program is a conversion program for owners of King Air 90 aircraft, in which the installed engines are replaced with the powerful 705 shaft-horsepower (shp) GE M601E-11A engines.

Airbus and Russian partners jointly decide to stop freighter conversion programme

Dynamic Airways adds Boeing MD-88 to fleet

Dynamic Aviation, a leading provider of innovative aviation solutions to government and commercial organizations worldwide, was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to add a new Boeing MD-88 jet to its Air Carrier Certificate on May 4. AWAS delivers first of five planned 737-800s to GOL

AWAS delivered a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft to Brazilian-based, low-cost airline GOL. This is the first of five planned deliveries to GOL through early 2013. In March of this year GOL and AWAS entered into a purchase and lease back agreement for 5 Boeing 737-800s that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer.

Willis Lease Finance and Mitsui & Co. form joint venture for jet engine leasing

Willis Lease Finance has entered into a joint venture agreement with Mitsui & Co., a major Japanese trading company, to acquire and lease IAE V2500-A5 and General Electric CF34-10E jet engines. IAE V2500 engines are used on the Airbus A320 family of aircraft and CF34-10E engines are used on the Embraer E190 and E195 aircraft. Willis Lease and Mitsui will each own 50% of the new joint venture. The new company, named Willis Mitsui & Co Engine Support Ltd., will be an Irish corporation with offices in Dublin. Spirit AeroSystems and Air Europa sign spare parts agreement

 Spirit AeroSystems and Air Europa Lineas Aereas, S.A.U announced the signing of a supply agreement whereby Spirit will supply thrust reverser, fuselage and wing components for Air Europa’s fleet of Boeing 737 and 767 aircraft.
