DAE delivers first B777F to Emirates

DAE Capital, the aircraft leasing and financial business arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), celebrated today the first Boeing 777 Freighter delivery to the Emirates SkyCargo, the Dubai-based air freighter carrier. This was the first Boeing 777 Freighter delivery to Emirates Airlines. DAE Capital, has a further 7 GE90-115B powered 777 freighters on order due to be delivered between (2009-2014).

JetBlue announces proposed offerings of 20,000,000 shares of common stock

JetBlue Airways Corporation intends to make concurrent offerings, subject to market conditions, of 20,000,000 shares of common stock and $150 million aggregate principal amount of convertible debentures, which are to be divided into two series, each with an aggregate principal amount of $75 million and maturing in 2039 (but subject to earlier repurchase or redemption). Republic Airways reports May 2009 traffic

Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009. The company reported a 5.2% traffic decrease from the same month last year, while capacity dropped 4.0%. Load factor was 75.8% versus 76.8% in May 2008. Approximately 1.7 million passengers were carried during the month, a 1.4% decrease from the same month last year.

Aircastle closes acquisition and lease of one A330-200 aircraft

Aircastle Limited announced that one of its subsidiaries has taken delivery of a new Airbus A330-200 aircraft on long-term lease to Aerovias del Continente Americano (“Avianca”). Avianca is the flag carrier of Colombia and one of the largest airlines in Latin America. Alaska Air Group reports May traffic

Alaska reported a decrease in load factor to 76.8% in May 2009, compared to 77.8% in May 2008, on a 6.3% decline in capacity compared to the prior-year period. Traffic for the month decreased 7.5% compared to May 2008. Horizon reported a decrease in load factor to 71.7% in May 2009, compared to 73.6% in May 2008, on a 12.9% decline in capacity compared to the prior-year period. Boeing, TEC Aviation and World Class Aviation Academy sign MOU

The Boeing Company, Danish aerospace maintenance training leader TEC Aviation, and the Dutch World Class Aviation Academy (WCAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities to develop state-of-the-art maintenance training, courseware development, computer-based training and virtual maintenance training for the Northern European aerospace market. Bombardier announces net income of $158 million for 1st quarter

Bombardier released its financial results for the first quarter ended April 30, 2009. Revenues reached $4.5 billion, compared to $4.8 billion, while earnings before financing income, financing expense and income taxes (EBIT) totalled $235 million, compared to $324 million last fiscal year.
