Delta selects P&W for long-term maintenance and materials agreements

Delta Air Lines has signed two 10-year aircraft engine service agreements valued at more than $1 billion. Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines & Global Services unit will provide Delta and Delta TechOps, with maintenance, material and aftermarket support. The first agreement, an Inventory Logistics Program, covers material replacement and parts repair for Delta’s fleet of more than 80 PW4000 engines. Embraer delivers 204 Jets in 2008

Embraer delivered 59 jets to the Commercial, Executive, and Defense and Government aviation segments during the fourth quarter of 2008 (4Q08), totaling 204 jets in the year. For the second consecutive year, the Company set a new aircraft delivery record, delivering 20% more airplanes than in 2007 (169 jets). GECAS finishes active 2008 with 232 total aircraft leased

GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) announced that it finished the year strong, entering into lease agreements for a total of 66 aircraft in the fourth quarter: including 36 aircraft from its existing fleet and 30 lease extensions, representing a 32% increase over Q4 2007 leasing activity. For the full year GECAS leased a total of 232 aircraft including 146 from existing fleet, 42 from the new order skyline, and 44 extensions of existing leases a 10% increase over 2007 leasing activity.

Airbus Military and EADS propose new approach for A400M programme

Airbus Military and EADS have proposed a new programme approach for the A400M to the Launch Nations, through OCCAR, with the aim to find a way forward for this programme. Airbus Military and EADS want to discuss the programme schedule along with changes to other areas of the contract including in particular certain technical characteristics of this first-class military aircraft. Airbus Military suggests to resume series production only once adequate maturity is reached, based on flight test results. GKN Aerospace, a leading manufacturer of aircraft transparencies, has partnered with A J Walter Aviation, specialists in the supply repair and lease of commercial aircraft spare parts, to provide customers with a one-stop service for all AOG requirements.
