Midwest Airlines to transition regional operations to SkyWest

Midwest Airlines will transition the operation of all Midwest Connect flights from Skyway Airlines to SkyWest Airlines as part of its agreement with the St. George, Utah-based carrier to operate 50-seat Canadair regional jets for Midwest Connect. SkyWest will continue to serve regional markets now served by Skyway, using the 50-seat aircraft to fly routes currently served by 32-seat aircraft. ACE Aviation Holdings to sell 13 million units of Jazz Air Income Fund

ACE Aviation Holdings has accepted an offer to sell a total of 13,000,000 units of Jazz Air Income Fund on an exempt trade basis to certain funds and accounts managed by West Face Capital Inc. and to Sunrise Partners Limited Partnership at a price of $7.45 per unit representing total net proceeds to ACE of approximately $96.85 million. The sale is expected to close on or about January 24, 2008. Immediately following the completion of the sale, ACE will hold approximately 9.5% of the issued and outstanding units of Jazz Air Income Fund.

Boeing shifts schedule for 787 first flight

Boeing announced that first flight of the 787 has been moved from the end of the first quarter of this year to around the end of the second quarter to provide additional time to complete assembly of the first airplane. Airbus achieved 1,341 net orders valued at $157.1 billion at catalogue prices (1,458 new gross orders valued at $181.1 billion). They include 913 A320-Family aircraft, 405 A330/A340/A350s, and 23 A380s. This demonstrates the strong demand for Airbus aircraft, with all members of the product family doing extremely well.
