Kadima-Zoran, Israel-based Eviation Aircraft has debuted its 2+9-seat all-electric plane, Alice, at the Paris Airshow. With a range of 650 miles and a cruising speed of 260 knots, Alice will target commuters on high-traffic routes such as Paris to Toulouse in France, Oslo to Trondheim in Norway, or San José to San Diego in the U.S. Eviation CEO Omer Bar-Yohay said: “Operating at a fraction of the costs of conventional jetliners, our Alice will redefine how people travel regionally and usher in a new era of flying that is quieter, cleaner and cost effective.”

In May it was announced that Alice will be powered by the magniX magni250 propulsion system and the timeline for the aircraft will see fligt certification in 2021, with its entry into operation in 2022.
|
According to Reuters, Eviation already has its first customer, Cape Air, one of the largest independent regional airlines in the United States, serving 35 cities there and in the Caribbean. It was recently revealed that Cape Air has a “double-digit” purchase option for Alice. “We see tremendous opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of our operations,” Cape Air founder and CEO Dan Wolf said in a statement released from the Paris Air Show.

Qatar Airways has signed a commitment to purchase five additional 777 Freighters from Boeing. The deal, valued at US$1.8 billion at list prices, was unveiled at the Paris Air Show and signed in the presence of His Excellency Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications.

American Airlines will acquire 50 Airbus A321XLR aircraft, the new longer-range version of Airbus’ successful A321neo. The purchase agreement includes the conversion of 30 of American’s existing A321neo slots to A321XLRs and incremental orders for an additional 20 A321XLRs.
|
American, based in Fort Worth, Texas, is the largest Airbus operator in the world with 422 Airbus aircraft. Including today’s announcement, American has outstanding orders for 115 A321neos and A321XLRs from Airbus.

Australia’s Qantas Airways is backing Airbus’ new extended range A321XLR with an agreement covering 36 aircraft. This includes the conversion of 26 existing A320neo Family orders plus a new firm order for 10 A321XLRs.
|
The aircraft will allow the Qantas Group, which includes low-cost carrier Jetstar, to improve its network and fleet flexibility to better serve point-to-point markets in Australia, Asia and the South Pacific.

Aerospace supply chain provider, Pattonair, signed a global general terms of agreement (GTA) with Safran at the Paris Air Show, in one of the first contracts of its kind placed by the Group with a distributor.
|
The umbrella agreement enables Pattonair to service multiple divisions and comes on the back of a series of new awards by several Safran companies, including Safran Nacelles, Safran Transmission Systems and Safran Ventilation Systems.
|
Pattonair had built a successful relationship over a decade with Safran Helicopter Engines (SHE) and in 2016 earned SHE Gold Supplier status for its innovation, quality and service, paving the way for subsequent contracts with other Safran companies.
|

KLM Cityhopper intents to purchase up to 35 E195-E2 jets, 15 firm orders with purchase rights for a further 20 aircraft of the same model. This intention, which still requires a Purchase Agreement, has a value of US$ 2.48 billion based on Embraer’s current list prices. The order will be added to Embraer's backlog as soon as a firm contract is completed.

Indigo Partners and three of its airlines will acquire 50 of the new Airbus A321XLR long-range, single-aisle jetliners. The Memorandum of Understanding includes new orders for 32 A321XLRs and the conversion of 18 existing A320neo family orders.
|
Indigo Partners, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is a private equity fund focused on worldwide investments in air transportation. Indigo has major ownership stakes in four low-cost airlines, including Frontier Airlines (U.S.), JetSMART (Chile), Volaris (Mexico) and Wizz Air (Hungary). The four carriers now operate a combined 295 Airbus planes and, with the new commitments, have 636 on order.

Twenty of the A321XLRs will be allocated to Wizz Air, 18 to Frontier, and 12 to JetSMART.

AAR has been selected as the exclusive distributor for Woodward for the promotion and sale of spare piece parts in support of U.S. Government fleets.
|
As part of this agreement, AAR OEM Solutions is providing piece part distribution for components on multiple platforms including the T700, LM2500 and TF34 engines. Excluded from the agreement are piece parts included in Woodward’s current long-term contracts with the U.S. Government.

GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik AG enlarge their collaboration on Boeing 777X MRO services. The companies have signed a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement under which Lufthansa Technik will be GE's authorized service provider for the backup generator/converter (BUG and BUC) and for certain Electrical Load Management Systems (ELMS) components on the new Boeing 777X aircraft.

This long-term cooperation will cover the maintenance service offerings, warranty support and 24/7 asset exchange/loan services to worldwide 777X operators.

Accipiter Holdings, a Dublin-based leasing company, has signed a purchase agreement to acquire 20 A320neo aircraft. The order had been completed in March 2019, and was listed in the order books as undisclosed.
|
The new single-aisle aircraft will further expand the portfolio of Accipiter Holdings, which aims to be a leading player in the global leasing market and is wholly owned by Hong Kong’s CK Asset Holdings Ltd. Together with Vermillion, its joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation subsidiary MC Aviation Partners (MCAP), Accipiter manages a total portfolio of just under 150 owned and committed aircraft.

Engine selection will be made at a later date.

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) and GE Aviation finalized a TrueChoiceTM Flight Hour agreement for its CF34-10E engines fleet. Under the agreement, NAC will offer GE Aviation-provided maintenance, repair and overhaul services to its CF34-10E lessees.

Macquarie Airfinance Group has finalized an agreement for the purchase of LEAP-1A engines to power its order placed last year for 20 new Airbus A320neo aircraft. “We are pleased to expand our long working relationship with CFM International by adding A320neos powered by the LEAP-1A to our portfolio of A320neos equipped with the CFM56-5B,” said John Willingham, Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie AirFinance. We look forward to bringing to our customers the range and fuel efficiency benefits of these advanced technology engines.”

Aviation Lease and Finance Company (ALAFCO), the Kuwait-based international aircraft leasing company, has selected CFM International’s advanced LEAP-1A engines to power 30 firm, 20 option new Airbus A320neo aircraft.
|
ALAFCO, a Kuwait based aircraft leasing company which is listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange was formed in 1992, is a long-time CFM customer. Today’s order expands its total LEAP fleet to than 120 engines.

ASL Aviation Holdings DAC (ASL) and Boeing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 20 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF), bringing the Next-Generation 737-800 freighter conversion to 120 orders and commitments, from eight customers. The agreement includes 10 firm orders and 10 purchase rights.

Operating on six continents, ASL provides network solutions to express freight integrators, transporting more than 357,000 metric tonnes of cargo in 2018.
|
Boeing recently inaugurated new conversion lines at Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services (BSAS) and Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company (STAECO), while looking to expand further. The program is committed to more than double 737-800BCF output this year, going from eight conversions in 2018 to 17 in 2019.

GE Aviation and Leonardo have signed a partnership Memorandum of Understanding to continue developing and implementing digital transformation across Leonardo's operations in the UK and to jointly develop digital products to open new business opportunities.

GE Aviation's digital services offering, Digital Works, embeds GE experts within the customer team to help plan, build and accelerate digital transformation.

The key objectives for the partnership are to improve business performance and reduce costs by developing digital tools and a digitized support environment to enhance the way Leonardo manage availability of their contracted fleet. Leveraging GE Aviation IP and jointly developing new tools will drive business growth for both organizations.

Airbus Helicopters and Safran Helicopter Engines are teaming up to prepare the future of cleaner, quieter and more efficient vertical flight, ahead of the upcoming Horizon Europe research programme which should be carried out during the next decade.

A Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed at the Paris Air Show between the two companies which formalised their willingness to jointly demonstrate future technologies that will significantly
contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and sound levels for future vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) platforms. A number of technological streams will be investigated, including various levels of electrification, higher-efficiency gas turbines or alternative fuels, as well as advanced engine architectures to further reduce the acoustic footprint of turbines.

GKN Aerospace' Indian Joint Venture, Fokker Elmo SASMOS Interconnection Systems, in Bangalore has been awarded a contract to manufacture electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) for the Pilatus PC-24.
|
The multi-million dollar contract of the program is another milestone in the business relationship between GKN Aerospace’s FE-SIL and Pilatus Aircraft that currently includes the company providing wiring systems for the PC-21 and PC-7 MkII. Activities in Bangalore to start the production for PC24 EWIS involve more than 30 highly skilled operators in India. This number will grow after further production ramp-up.

More than 30 PC-24s are currently in operation around the world, including three PC-24s used as medevac aircraft for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. Pilatus plans on delivering about 40 PC-24 Super Versatile Jets in 2019 and 50 in 2020.

Dublin-based turboprop leasing firm Elix Aviation Capital, has signed a Letter of Intent to become the launch customer of the ATR 42-600S, with an order for 10 aircraft.
|
This new version of the ATR 42-600 offers capabilities to take-off from and land on runways as short as 800m, with the ‘S’ representing STOL (Short Take Off and Landing). ATR is currently finalising the process for official launch of the 42-600S and received authorisation to take in orders for the aircraft, subject to the final confirmation for launch from the company’s Board of Directors, expected before year end.

This is the first time the company has placed a strategic order directly with an aircraft manufacturer and their choice of the ATR 42-600S demonstrates confidence in the quality and value of the aircraft, as well as the market potential that the STOL version will have in the regional aviation market. The aircraft will be delivered between 2022 and 2024.

Embraer has signed signed a contract with Japan’s FujiDream Airlines (FDA) for a firm order of two E175 jets.The order has a value of USD 97.2million, based on 2019 list prices, and was already included in Embraer’s 2019 first-quarter backlog as “undisclosed.”
|
Furthermore, Binter of Spain, has opted for two additional E195-E2s, confirming purchase rights from the original contract, signed in 2018. The two new E195-E2s will beincluded in Embraer’s 2019 second-quarter backlog . The airline is celebrating 30 years of operations in 2019.

Specialized wet lease airline Hi Fly, has added three new Airbus A319-100s to its fleet.
|
The aircraft, which were delivered to Hi Fly in May and June, have a total passenger capacity between 144 and 150 passengers.
|
The A319 – a shortened-fuselage member of Airbus’ A320 family –is a highly versatile aircraft and has the same optimized cabin cross-section as its fellow A320 family, making the widest single-aisle fuselage currently on the market. Hi Fly operates an all-Airbus fleet that includes A320, A330, A340, and A380 aircraft.
