FL Technics, a global provider of integrated aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, has signed a joint operations agreement to open an EASA certified Line maintenance station in Dubai International Airport (DXB).
|
FL Technics representatives signed the agreement with local partners which entitles them to start the establishment process for the station. The newly established station in DXB will be operational in the second half of April 2019. The EASA certified center will be providing line maintenance services to foreign and local airlines with work scope of up to DY/WY check and defect rectification.
|
From the beginning of its operations, the Line maintenance station at DXB will provide services for
Airbus A320 family aircraft and Boeing 737 CL/NG. Further on, in H2 of 2019, the capabilities of the station will be expanded to include Airbus A320 NEO, A330, Boeing B777 and B787 aircraft types.

Bombardier has delivered its first European-based Global 7500 aircraft to long-time Bombardier customer, Niki Lauda, as production and completions of the business jet continue to ramp up as planned. Bombardier is on track to deliver between 15 and 20 Global 7500 aircraft in 2019.
|

On Sunday, March 31, 2019, the summer schedule has come into effect at Václav Havel Airport Prague. For the duration of the season, a total of 69 airlines will be operating regular scheduled direct flights from Prague, heading to 162 destinations in 54 countries. There will also be direct flights to 16 long-haul destinations, which is the largest number in the airport’s modern history.

“As part of the summer timetable, a total of four new airlines will be launching services from Václav Havel Airport Prague, two of them on long-haul routes. This proves our long-term success in motivating an ever-increasing number of airlines to open new routes from Prague, which ultimately means a wider choice of flights for our passengers,” says Vaclav Rehor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

In comparison with the previous summer season, the total number of airlines running direct flights from Prague this summer will increase by two. Four new airlines, Air Arabia, SCAT Airlines, SunExpress, and United Airlines, will be operating their flights from Prague for the first time.

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) has entered into a joint venture agreement with NokScoot Airlines Co. (NokScoot), to form a line maintenance joint venture based in Thailand.
|
Under the agreement, NokScoot will hold an equity stake of 51% in the joint venture, with SIAEC taking the remaining 49% stake. The agreement is subject to the receipt of regulatory approvals.
|
The joint venture will have an initial registration capital of THB63,680,000, or approximately S$2,740,000. NokScoot will subscribe for THB32,476,800, or approximately S$1,397,000, in cash and SIAEC will subscribe for THB31,203,200, or approximately S$1,343,000, in cash in the joint venture.
|
The joint venture will commence operations in Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and subsequently expand to other key airports in Thailand.
|

Elix Aviation Capital has concluded the sale of a portfolio of six turboprop aircraft with leases attached to Chorus Aviation Capital.
|
The portfolio includes two ATR 72-600 aircraft, MSN 957, MSN 987, on lease to Azul of Brazil, and four Bombardier Q400 aircraft, MSN 4540, MSN 4542 on lease to Ethiopien Airlines and MSN 4110 and MSN 4554 on lease to Jambojet of Kenya.

This transaction represents Elix's first portfolio sale of aircraft with leases attached.

In time for the start of the summer timetable season, Lufthansa has launched a new service from Munich to Osaka on March 31, 2019. The German carrier has decided to extend this route from Frankfurt to Munich. Along with the established flights operated by Lufthansa and All Nippon Airways to Tokyo, Munich Airport is now offering a second Japanese destination for the first time. With three daily connections, Munich Airport now ranks fifth in Europe in terms of flights to and from Japan.

From Europe, Japan's third-largest city can be reached non-stop only from Amsterdam, Helsinki,
London-Heathrow, Paris Charles-de-Gaulle and now Munich. Japan is one of the most important destinations in Asia – as demonstrated by the rising passenger figures. In 2018 a total of 200,000 passengers travelled in each direction between Munich and Japan.

Asian routes are the main source of growth in intercontinental traffic in the summer of 2019. "We
believe that Munich Airport will establish itself as a convenient hub for travel to Asia in the coming years and see strong potential for further growth in this market segment," says Oliver Dersch, Munich Airport's Vice President for Traffic Development.

Trenchard Aviation Group has renewed its long-term contract to provide aircraft cabin materials management services to Virgin Atlantic.
|
This comprehensive, wide-ranging contract will be fulfilled by the Group’s nose-to-tail cabin maintenance and total care management company, Aero Technics. The company will be delivering design services, interior parts development and repair, on-wing cabin maintenance, galley insert repairs, dry cleaning services and soft furnishing repair and replacement.

The EPA part development aspect of the contract will include efficient inventory management
and distribution of parts to maintenance areas as well as warranty management on behalf of the airline with OEMs.

Embraer has delivered the first E175 to Mauritania Airlines. The airline signed a firm order with Embraer for two E175 jets in 2018. The contract has a value of US$93.8 million.
|
The second aircraft will be delivered in the second quarter of 2019. The E175 for Mauritania Airlines is configured with 76 seats in a comfortable dual class layout. The introduction of E175 is part of Mauritania’s fleet modernization, replacing old aircraft and complementing their modern narrow-body aircraft.

AVIAA has added an important new pillar to its business aviation services – a 110+-strong global FBO network.
|
The US and European-based company invited a variety of FBOs to participate in an RFP process in December, responding to demand from members to obtain valuable savings on their fuel costs in North America and associated FBO services worldwide. “We had an amazing response,” said AVIAA CEO Gillian Hayes, noting that after two months of close evaluation the full line up of participating partners have now been loaded on to the AVIAA Dashboard, enabling members to enjoy a range of preferred pricing, as and when they use them.

The newly selected US and Canadian locations join AVIAA’s established FBO partners in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia for a robust network of over 100 locations and growing. Through the network, AVIAA members will receive exclusive pricing on fuel uplift at North American locations, in addition to discounts on handling and other services at all other destinations.

“Our preferred FBO network is a big part of our community building. Just like our jet owners and
operators want to join together and aggregate their volume to streamline purchasing, these FBOs are committed to joining together and supporting our community as partners,” Gillian added. In the US, the growing FBO network includes big brands like Jet Aviation at Washington Dulles, Fontainebleau in Oppalocka, and Castle and Cooke, as well as small independent locations.
